Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) formally launched an Information & Communications Technology platform at the Lucknow campus of AKTU. The platform was launched by Shri Bhuvesh Kumar, Secretary, Education, Uttar Pradesh and the meeting was presided over by Honorable Vice Chancellor Shri. Vinay Pathak, AKTU. The event was also attended by Shri. Anil Pipal, Director HRD, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), Prof. S Ganesh, Dean of Research and Development, IIT Kanpur; Prof(s). BV Phani and Amey Karkare, Chief Investigators, E&ICT Academy at IIT Kanpur and the directors of over 100 engineering colleges affiliated to AKTU.
IIT Kanpur has developed this platform, the first of its kind for online education in India and on this platform, a large number of courses are already being hosted. These courses are organized by domain experts, including IITK faculty, in the areas of IT, electronics and management. The online platform also has multiple career-centric programs to enhance the competence of faculty and provide value-added training to students.
This platform will be used for improving the quality of engineering education in partnership with AKTU. AKTU students will get easy access to IITK teachers and course material and AKTU faculty will get 100 percent scholarship on all courses. Hands-on practice, real-time feedback and graded assignments will help students develop a deeper understanding of their subjects.
